In State College, PA

I have been in SC for about two months. University Park is a huge campus.
Although October just came, I have to put on my sweater which I only weared in the winter in Carlisle. Only two hours away west from Carlisle, the weather is so much colder here.

PSU at UP is a very diversed university with a large number of international students, about 200 Taiwanese students. Students from China are the largest group. On the bus, you will hear other languages more often than English.

I started my J.D. program one and half months ago. Monday through Friday is studying, classes, eating, and sleeping according to my schedule. I have to say LL.M. was more relax; at least the studying was not so stressful.

The most time consuming class for me is legal writing. I never noticed that how much I had to improve my ability for writing and organizing until they all showed on my memo. There is always the format to follow when it comes to the legal writing. I should apply those writing rules to my blog as well. Overview paragraph, discussion, conclusion. Well, it should be clear for reders to understand what I am talking about, also easier for me to present the analysis logically..... anyway, school is everything for me.

As for the life here, I am used to taking the bus to school at 7:56 a.m. I like riding my bike (which was Dorothy's) down the hills and enjoy the speed and release. But riding up the hills always slower than walking... Football games, creamery ice-cream, the forests, lakes, and animals are my favorite.

Well... friends, come to visit me here sometime. I will show you around.
ps. I am learning how to drive.

Bing! 冰? 餅!!

Too bad that I just found a newly open restaurant on W. 3rd St at the corner with 6 Ave. The dumpling tastes the same as the one in Taiwan, just like 八方雲集 or 四海遊龍,....I had lunch there right after the MPRE and maybe dinner later tonight. When the waiter in the restaurant told me that dumpling takes only 6 minutes (in Mandarin) to prepare, it made me think of "六分鐘護一生"commercial in TW, especially with his "6" gesture (^_^6) Btw, the Chinese bun(with either taro, red beans, or 叉燒包 tastes good too, and it's free now!) I guess the name of the restaurant is "Bing"(餅). At the beginning, I thought they were opening the one like 挫"冰". Btw, the dumpling is cheaper compared to other dumpling houses; 10 for $4.xx. And their bing is combined 燒餅 and 餡(veggie or meat), cheap too $1.xx! Anyway, kind of late to find this so close to NYU. Uh, today is the anniversary of the day coming to USA. I miss Taiwan; can't wait till the X'mas break.

The last week in NYC

I can't believe that I have been as a New Yorker for 11 weeks. Even though I love NYC for so many good food, shows and places to explore, it costs a lot to enjoy. I still find myslef fit in Carlisle. Last weekend, I went back to Carlisle enjoying freely riding Dorothy's bicycle. (Btw, Dorothy, your bicycle is really great, especially riding up to the heel towards WalMart. No sweat! Thanks a lot!) Now, it's the last week in NYC; I will miss here when I go back to PA, I think...
